Amtel Group was founded in 1990 as a trading company supplying natural rubber from Malaysia and Indonesia to USSR with a turnover of 100,000 tons per year.

Later the Group gets involved into electronics distribution. In 1993 Amtel starts investing into soft drinks, tea and vodka production in Russia. The company quickly transforms into one of the largest Russian soft drinks manufactures with up to 12% of market share.

In 1997 Amtel focuses on tyre manufacturing and sells soft drinks division. Amtel consolidates tyre assets and invests in the renovation of old-fashioned soviet tyre factories.

In 2005 after acquiring of Vredestein corporation, one of the largest tyre manufactures in Europe, Amtel Group initiates successful IPO in London Stock Exchange.

In 2005 Amtel integrates its non-core real estate assets in Amtel Properties development company.

In 2007 after Amtel-Vredestein becomes the 4th largest tyre manufacture and distributor in Europe Amtel Group sells its tyre business off and concentrates in the development of the real estate division.
